Biochemist roles

There are 2 main roles a biochemist can take during War of Emperium on iRO Classic.

  • Damage Dealing Biochemist
  • Full Support Biochemist (Aid Condensed Potion)

Damage Dealing

Positioning and Play

As a Biochemist only has 1 base VIT, it is mostly immune to Acid Bomb from other Biochemists. A damage dealing Biochemist positions itself at the front of the guild with the scholars.
These Biochemists should be permanently under sacrifice from a Paladin. Targets are ideally called out by the guild to synchronize the removal of opponent sacrifice and maximize damage.
Priority targets would be opposing VIT based classes, Paladins, Scholars, Assassin Cross, Lord Knights and Performers. High Wizards who get VIT will drop fast to acid bomb.

The biochemist should friend targets for Full Chemical Protection prior to WoE starting and use the friend window and party window to buff their guildmates.
Likewise this allows the guildmates to use a /hi macro on Alt+# to request a Full Chem buff quickly and easily.

Equipment notes:

  • Stun proofing must equal to 100% from equipment. Stun resistance from VIT DOES NOT STACK with equipment resistance.
  • Stun Resistance from equipment does not affect Stun duration. With 1 VIT, the effect duration will be 100% if stun happens!
  • One Bison Horn should be used with Thorny Buckler to provide the combo bonus.
  • DEX and ASPD should be as high as possible. A minimum ASPD of 186 is recommended with 140 DEX.
  • A Hide (Smokie) accessory should be kept as a swap. A Sight ( Horong) accessory is also useful to have on standby.
  • Thorny Buckler may be detrimental against high DPS magic users. A Valkyrja's Shield can be much more effective in reducing damage taken.
  • Valkyrian Manteaus are a good choice vs opponents who like to use Guillotine Fist aggressively.

  • If using a Mjolnir, it is recommended to reduce DEX and increase AGI.

*With Mega Resist Potion an alternative hat with Stalactic Golem card can be used, such as Ulles Cap or St Patrick's Day Hat.

Skill build

DD biochemist skill build is straightforward, with Acid Bomb 10, Full Chemical Protection 4 and Aid Condensed Potion 10. This allows the chemist to help support the guild if needed.
First class skills are a personal preference, provided Enlarge Weight Limit and Push Cart are maxed out.

WoE DD Biochemist Skill Build

Full Support

Positioning and Play

The Full Support Biochemist stays in the middle of the group and will use Aid Condensed Potion when the guild is taking damage. It has high ASPD and DEX so it may cast rapidly.

The biochemist should friend targets for Full Chemical Protection prior to WoE starting and use the friend window and party window to buff their guildmates.
Likewise this allows the guildmates to use a /hi macro on Alt+# to request a Full Chem buff quickly and easilly.

  • Sleep immunity is important! A nightmare Ulle's Cap can be used in place of a nightmare mid, but is not ideal.
  • DEX and ASPD should be as high as possible. A minimum ASPD of 186 is recommended with 140 DEX.
  • A Hide (Smokie) accessory should be kept as a swap. A Sight (Horong) accessory is also useful to have on standby.
